![]() ![]() I will never be running workloads as intensive as Blender etc for long durations. Admittedly not as good as i7 12700 in productivity but I'm really not going to notice that much. I want to BCLK OC the 12400 as in OC'ed state gaming performance its pretty much on par with an i7 12700 (source: Techspot review of BCLK OC of non-K alder lakes), so a good pairing for the 3080. From what I gather, even still, something like the DeepCool AS500 (single tower 1x140mm fan cooler, maybe even add second 140mm fan for push/pull to make it into an AS500 Plus) can still handle it but as long as airflow is good. The i5 12400 is not a particularly hot chip but at 5GHz+ BCLK OC will be drawing more power than its usual 65W. It is vertical airflow and one rear fan opening. Can fit tall tower CPU Cooler or 240mm AIO BUT it has no front air intake. The case can fit good length GPU (RTX 3080 even with ATX PSU) has front USB-C, important as rear wont be easily accessible. So it was a nightmare trawling through case dimensions to find one that fit and met my other requirements. ![]() The PC can only go in that shelf space (34cm high x 20cm wide) there is no space for it on the desk or anywhere else. Gamemax Spark matx case (H)337mm*(W)204mm will just about go into a tiny shelf that is just the right size for it.
